Visiting the Sylvester's

7.23.2010

Brian and Julie had us over for dinner. This couple holds a special place in our heart. We met them in Btown when they were college students. David and I were just married and spent a lot of time with these two, even though their love did not flourish until we were out of the picture! Anyway, they have a wonderful family and Julie served us by making a real Vegan meal---it was awesome, we loved it.

The kids. Sophia loved playing with Nathan, their three year old.

Staying at Heather's

7.23.2010

We spent a few days in Raleigh, during which time we visited with various people, and of course hung out with the cousins. But one of the highlights was staying at my BF Heather's new house. The girls had a blast and we did too...

Sophia loved sitting in this rocker that was Heather's when she was little.

She liked this chair too, and began 'reading' to Bella.

Late night talks were awesome Heather! I will miss that. (see you soon though as we crash your pad again)

I went to a housewarming party for my friend Heather and got to see some of my favorite people, I love these girls and could tell some stories...

Anna's Birthday--live!

7.24.2010

It was so exciting to be in town for Cousin Anna's 4th birthday. We have missed every one of her birthdays since living overseas, so this was extra special, especially since Sophia and Anna became quick friends.

Her party was a morning one with Krispy Kreme for the 'cake.' We met at a local park in Raleigh and played games and hung out with the cousins and other friends.

This girl is just beautiful. She looks just like her mom did as a little girl!

Sammy 'the mohawk' Williams. I call him Samwise after my favorite Lord of the Rings character.

the picture is too bright, no time to photoshop these days, heck, this event is over a month old, so bear with me. Here we are, the two families, Cokers and Williams, playing duck duck goose.

The Williams introduced us to the game 'Captain Midnight'

We had such a blast and have been so refreshed having real life on life times with Travis, Julie, and the kiddos. We have learned SO much from this family and have treasured this time together.

Happy fourth Birthday Anna!

Still alive

How long has it been? I know, too long. I am just enjoying the real life talking to people at night instead of blogging. So, One day I will catch up, and hope I remember everything.
In the meantime, before I relive our summer here, I will do a little Bella boo update:

She is still a chill baby, and all smiles, take a look:

Okay, so maybe she is not so much a baby anymore, at 14 months old, where did the time go?
She can take about ten steps on her own, but really prefers to speed crawl. She is babbling and talking like crazy, some of it is understandable, and she is really understanding more too: she says things like: Da-dee, dog-gee, CC, Pop-pee, mama, cracker (craaa er). She can feed herself with a spoon (with double bib action), but she manages to get most of it in her mouth. She is still quite tiny for her age. At her last appointment she had dropped off her curve some, but we have been really trying to fatten her up. She seems perfect, but she really looks like a ten month old. Developmentally though she is all there.
We love this little girl, did I mention, she was still SO cute!
The other evening when Sophia prayed she said: 'thank you God for Bella boosk.' (this is a nick name we call her some times, I just smiled, we thank God for our Bella boosk!

On the road again

Sophia, Bella, CC, and I spent last week without the guys hanging out and getting ready for our trip to Florida, which commences tomorrow. We will be on the road for a LONG time! Hope to catch up blogging sometime.... so many more fun things to post....

A tidbit.
While daddy was away Sophia talked to him every night before bed, this just happened to be the time that they were on the bus on the way back to the dorms where they were staying (OshKosh, Wi). He would always tell her about all the airplanes they saw every day and then tell her he was on the bus. By the third night of saying this she said: 'it sure is taking you a long time to get there!'
