Whitefield is a gigantic home that is opened to various people for R & R. We knew that this time while in the U.S. we had to have some quality time with Chip and Rebecca and their four kids. Not doing this was not an option. And man, were these few days a blast. Fun on the lake, in the lake, at meals, after the kids were in bed, talking, catching up, laughing, crying. We did it all....
Thanks so much Chip and Bec for planning this unforgettable time.
Beautiful land. The crew down on the dock
The house. Wow.
Strollin' on the water
Sophia running down the hill to the lake.
Checking out somethin'
backwards down the slip n slide
And forwards, it did not work too well, so we just opted to swim in the lake.
gearing up for the water, the Bug kids are fearless
Sophia had also built up confidence to float on her own and 'swim' herself around, though she still shies from going under the water.
We determined from pictures of when the lake was dug that it was probably more than forty feet deep. That meant that even the big kids needed 'floaties' at times in order to last the hours of swimming.
Owen and Sophia, with Daddy holding on
Us on the boat
going way out
trying her hand at fishing
Bella and Simeon
She looks like she is concentrating and really knows what she is doing...hmm...
Chip, on the other hand, did catch a fish.
Spectacular.
Sophia LOVED Emma. And Sophia can be a little clingy. But they had good times together.
The accommodations.

Bec and I
Best friends from college, this friendship is unbreakable. And I love it. One of the things I first noticed about David was that he had some really good friendships. Strong ties. Loyalty. Openness. Trust. A good sign of a man. And through all of our crazy life changes (and theirs too), the Bugnars have remained incredible friends of our family. This time spent with them was priceless.
