We were SO excited that our friends were coming for Thanksgiving! And then they were sick and may not come, and then I spent one prep day with Sophia at the doctor, and then they were coming but delayed by bad roads and car accidents. And then they arrived! And we spent hours talking, cooking, talking, cooking, wrangling kids, talking, and just speaking truth and love to one another, brainstorming ideas, deep discussions, hilarious discussions. We love these people!
E and I happened upon really well shaped pumpkins at the market. We had to go to the market day-of, because my chicken lady, who promised me a big chicken, went completely MIA. We had to go with two small ones, one with black skin, which the Chinese swear is better, our taste test proved otherwise.
Back to the pumpkins. Fun was had painting these...
Even sweet, precious AG got involved.
This group picture is not very good, but oh well.
Their kids are the ages of Bella and Tobin, but super tall!!
I consider E to be better than Martha Stewart at homemaking/decorating/cooking (basically everything), so I had her go through our house and tell me what she would do, how would she decorate/organize with what we have or a few additions. She had some GREAT ideas that I will implement, and one that I did while she was there. When I took her shopping in my favorite shop, she fell in love with a rug that she was certain would look great in our red room. We added some window pillows, got rid of the little love seat (old seat from a car, I was planning on this anyway), and made the window seat useable (which gets really hot), by putting the curtains inside it (I had already considered this but wasn't sure about it). I have to say, I love it ( I will post a pic of it later). I actually just got the curtains hung today which opens it up and completes the change. Now that it looks beautiful and bright and fun for a school room, we will see if we sit in the window or plop down on the bean bags or not. I think yes, David is not convinced yet. We shall see. I really do love it. Thanks E for your ideas!
Shoeless Tobin
Speaking of Tobin, here he is looking all 1970's ish. And that is because this outfit was actually David's when he was little. Yes, indeed. Crazy, I know. So, let's see, David was sporting this probably in 1979!
And here she is again, AG, super cuteness.
Thanks for coming D and E! We love you guys and Always enjoy our time together.
