We had heard this rock wall was TALL! It was (in American dimensions) almost 4 stories high, 3 in China, and its massiveness did not disappoint.
The younger kids were just climbing around to begin with.
Both Isabella and Tobin put on belts and tried their hand on the easier side, but it still was not easy and quite intimidating.
After a little less than half way they both opted out. We were proud they tried, looking down was not advisable, but often couldn't be helped.
These huge and beautiful dogs were nearby and quite friendly.
Sophia decided to try the kids' side.
Here is some perspective:
She made it and touched the pole at the top!
Isabella tried again on the harder side:
And Sophia joined in the middle. Once you get past the red line it gets a little Hairy:
Before getting on the wall I was thinking as if I was my 20 year old self: piece of cake, not afraid of heights, strong enough.
There I go past the red line. My heart started beating fast and all fear crept in. My strategy: go strong and fast, legs only.
This worked until about 3/4 the way up and I was shaking a little.
I looked down at David (oops) and said: "David, I am really actually scared"
He, and the guy belaying me reminded me to go one by one and don't look down.
These words got me the rest of the way...over the corner part and up to the pole.
Victory. I really almost wimped out.
And there they sat...not a care in the world.
We were so glad we conquered the rock wall. As we drove back to our friend's house the kids pointed out the sun rays and so I grabbed the shot:
Last night with friends: homemade pizza and smores!!!
Fabulous Thanksgiving...
And since they built their strength rock climbing, we figured our kids could handle holding up the building...
Hope you enjoyed our Thanksgiving Adventures, I know we did...
On to Christmas Cheer...
