More details...

After the retreat there were only a few days left so we crammed everything in and still had such an enjoyable time hanging out, playing games, walking around, shopping, visiting village friends we had met previously, and even exploring new villages.

Heather took it upon herself to become best buds with Abby, our helper. Though they couldn't communicate, they still communicated, it was awesome to watch. Two things that helped make this time with our friends so smooth: Abby's help day in and day out, and a friend's van that was at our disposal

thanksgiving shot: chicken in the oven, casserole on top, and how ghetto is this: our oven door broke so we now prop it up with a pot and a box of apple juice inside, hilarious.

Love this Thanksgiving shot (pre-fall off the bed). Caleb and Sophia

In this village, David pretended he could not speak the minority language (or even Mandarin) to see/hear what the people were saying. At first this man held up two fingers and said something to Travis, then Travis held up four and said: 'I actually have four children.' What the man was actually saying was: 'you are SO huge, you must be 200 pounds' then he tried to pick him up. When David started speaking to them in their language they about fell over, and laughed at his joke, and said they had never seen foreigners before. This is only ten minutes outside of our city.

Our friend let us use her 12 passenger van the entire time our friends were here, this was invaluable. Here Travis and Josh and Grace pose for a shot. Looks like Travis is in deep thought contemplating a way to beat the girls at something..

Here is the crew (minus Heather) at a Pagoda in our city

With Aunt Julie, spectacular views

Sweet times.... years ago, we three were roommates...

Love this view in our city, looking at these glorious landscapes I quote this often:
I lift up my eyes to the mountains--where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and Earth
