On the morning of his last day, we took Herschel on a drive around our big lake.
It is pretty cool out here, and picturesque.
A few years ago a developer built a 'mountain villa golfing community'. It is unfinished, and I am not sure who goes there to golf, but it is beautiful.
From a 'resort' hotel on the other side of the lake you can see the pagoda through the trees.
We did drive through a gated community and were then chased down by the guard who told us he 'accidentally' let us through.
We know that it takes sacrifice, time off work, uncomfortable plane rides, sleeplessness, and bravery to come and experience our crazy life. We are SO thankful Herschel took the time to do this. From the joyful hellos to the tearful goodbyes, we couldn't have asked for a better trip and great guest.
Two days after he left Gabrielle asked: 'Where is Uncle Herschel?' I replied that he went back to America, and she said: 'oh! I want him to come back to our house!'
Our thoughts exactly sweetie! Thanks Uncle Herschel for getting a glimpse of our life for a week and making special memories! We loved every minute of it.
This was a perfect Christmas gift and You made it our best Christmas yet.
