This week's field trip: Fantasia Lagoon

As promised we took a trip to a water park. We were watching the forecast to determine the best day, and Wednesday was it! We did not bring any cameras, not even a phone.

My expectations were low, seeing as how it cost our family a total of 440 Thai Baht, or just under $14 to enter. It was perfect. A weekday, no one was there. It was clean, and not too big, you could get around very easily. It had two big slides, a lazy river, and three other areas for kiddos of various ages with different smaller slides. And the weather did turn out perfect!

David and Sophia did all of the slides, while I stayed with Tobin and Bella in various play areas. When I walked in I was excited about all the slides, and then remembered I was 9 months pregnant. Maybe next time.

The biggest drawback was getting there, it was a 45 minute taxi ride, the kids almost got carsick towards the end of it. And on the way back to avoid afternoon traffic, we had to take a taxi (70-100 Baht) to the sky train, and then another taxi to the guest house once we got off. The round trip travel expense was 480 Baht, just over $15. Other expenses  included renting towels, swim caps (required), and inner tubes, but they were still pretty minimal.

Fantasia Lagoon is on the top of a huge mall (Bang Khae), inside the mall is a small amusement park and all kinds of other fun things to do. There was a tall waterfall, at the bottom was a mini-lake with huge fish, and then an area for parrots as well. This mall and water park is definitely frequented more by locals than ex-pats which was one of the things we liked about it.

We had a great day and returned to have dinner with friends, the same friends who will so graciously watch our kids in a few days while David and I are at the hospital!
