Goodbyes

 May 27-28, 2012.
The last weekend before our friends moved away we took them to the hot springs that are a little bit out of town. It was a very fun outing. The kids had a blast. We even put Tobin in the water too, he loved it. We know it is time for Bella to be in floaties at least, but she was loving this and was more manageable this way.
These three really had fun playing together the past six months. These goodbyes and Sophia's experience of real loss gave us many opportunities for good talks and cries. But our life just happens to be one of 'goodbyes'. Real goodbyes. The 'I really won't experience what being in your life is like for at least a year or two, or maybe never again' kind of goodbyes. Man, this is hard. There is no sugar-coating it. We love living here, we love what we do, we are so blessed by so many incredible opportunities and rare adventures that make for great stories and great lessons learned and real impact. But....the goodbyes just get harder and harder as you see the hurt in your kids' eyes. We will deal with this again this summer as we return for a short summer of fun in the States. But it will end in goodbyes too. So much to be said here from the inter-workings of my heart, I will leave it for now and move on....

This guy. Double bonus cuteness, from a biased parent. He still takes things in stride. More posts coming about our blue-eyed boy.
We just prayed for this family tonight (though the goodbyes are two weeks old now). That their travels would fare well and that he would make new friends in his new home, this from Sophia, who is loyal to the end, and hopes the best for her 'old' friend.
